RM11.6mil to solve flood woes


Water from the tidal valves flowing into the sea following the completion of the Transfer Road/Hutton Lane flood mitigation project in Penang.

THE Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has allocated RM11.61mil to upgrade drainage systems in George Town next year as part of efforts to solve flood woes in the city.

Mayor Datuk Patahiyah Ismail said the money would be used to upgrade the drainage system in Hilir Sungai Pinang, the S10 city drainage system and the Sungai Jelutong diversion in Jalan Tengku, Jalan Merican and Lebuh McNair.
