TWO outstanding women were conferred the Honorary Doctor of Letters degree during the 7th convocation ceremony of Wawasan Open University (WOU) in Penang.
They are Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, the Under Secretary-General for Partnerships at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Prof Dr Asha Kanwar, the president and chief executive officer of the Commonwealth of Learning, which is an inter-governmental organisation headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
