Construction workers to be examined

THE Perak Health department will be examining the construction workers involved in building projects near the orang asli settlement in Pos Kemar, Gerik to identify the cause of the malaria outbreak.

Since the outbreak came to light two weeks ago, a total of 93 orang asli aged between eight months to 60 years old from 10 villages in the area have been tested positive for the Plasmodium vivas (P. vivax) species of the virus as of Wednesday morning.
