Thomas and Friends expected to lure crowd to theme park

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Puteri Harbour Thomas Town theme park has received some 500,000 visitors as of November this year and the number is expected to increase with the Thomas and Friends final tour which ends on January 7, 2017.

General manager Fahruddin Najmudeen said the tour made its final stop at the theme park here after making a stop at different locations in three states in the peninsula.

The Mini and Mighty Malaysia Tour 2016, showcases a total of 70 Thomas’ mini engines with various animation characters such as Batman and Minion on display at the theme park.

“We are offering a 20% discount on entrance fees to the park starting from Nov 25 and we have also lined up several events for visitors in conjunction with the year-end school holidays,’’ he said in a press conference here on Friday.

Fahruddin said among the events include snow fall, street bazaar selling Christmas decorations and other items on weekends, handicraft, origami and sand art workshops for visitors.

He said Santa Claus and Santarina will also go around distributing candies on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
