Homestay can boost tourism, says MPK

Mohamad Yasid’s official residence in Jalan Raya Barat, which has been made available as a homestay for tourists, is within walking distance of Klang’s Little India.

HOMESTAYS are getting more popular among tourists and Klang Municipal Council (MPK) is encouraging homeowners to rent out their vacant homes or rooms to boost tourism in the district.

Council president Datuk Mohamad Yasid Bidin said foreign tourists enjoyed homestays be it in an urban or rural setting as it gives them an opportunity to observe first-hand the culture and practices of the local people.
