HONG Seng Group has introduced China’s Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG)’s HANVAN heavy truck to the Malaysian market.

Its managing director Datuk Teoh Hai Hin said the value- for-money HANVAN truck would provide a better option for domestic customers.

Speaking at the recent launching at Hong Seng Group premises in Sungai Lokan in Butterworth, Teoh said he was confident the domestic market would accept HANVAN heavy-duty trucks.

“Malaysia’s acceptance of China’s automobiles has been increasing year by year.

“This is especially evident in the heavy truck segment with demand growing between 10% and 15% per year.

“I believe that in the future, more than half of the heavy trucks on the roads in Malaysia will be from China,” he said.

Teoh also said that XCMG had made its presence felt in 176 countries.

He added that the company was the largest manufacturer of construction machinery in China.

Also present at the event were XCMG Automotive Division general manager Luo Donghai and XCMG Import and Export Corporation deputy general manager Hu Xiangyang.

Teoh said Hong Seng was confident about introducing the HANVAN heavy truck to Malaysia as despite the overall declining performance in the industry, the sales of HANVAN trucks had kept growing.

“The product also draws on the safety and reliability standards of the European market,” added Teoh.

The launching saw the introduction of three models with options of Weichai or Cummins diesel engines.

Teoh said the group currently had six one-stop service centres throughout the country.

Next year, it will set up another six to provide its customers with the most complete and first-class after-sales service.

Luo said XCMG had put in four years of planning and design to produce the truck, which boasts a comprehensive and ergonomics design to provide customers with the best choice of a heavy truck.

He also said the group was committed to creating high-quality and beyond-value products.

“The HANVAN heavy truck’s quality, performance and price against other international brands are better and it has more to offer than its competitors.

“The HANVAN heavy truck is comfortable with low noise and high efficiency.

“It is also environmentally friendly,” Luo said.
