Poor planning led to recent floods, says Gerakan


Teng speaking to reporters on the flood issue at the Penang Gerakan headquarters in Macalister Road, George Town.

PENANG Gerakan secretary Hng Chee Wey has questioned theeffectiveness of the RM38mil spent on flood mitigation projects bythe current state government so far.

Referring to the Penang Budget from 2011 to 2015, he said thestate had spent about RM18mil on deepening and repairing rivers, and RM20mil on flood prevention, but the floods are still occuring.
