Double the fun for ‘voluntourists’ at cleanup

BEACH cleaning was made morefun for some 150 ‘voluntourism’ participants as they got to enjoy the beautiful sights as well as help upkeep the environment at the Penang National Park.

Tourism Malaysia Penang director Mazlan Araju said ‘voluntourism’, a word derived from‘volunteer’ and ‘tourism’, was in line with the 1Malaysia Green 1Malaysia Clean programme that was launched in 2010 to inspire love for the nature and develop awareness for cleanliness in tourism premises.
