WEIGHTLIFTER T. Logassree has never experienced such a chaotic run-up to her family’s Deepavali celebrations as this year.

The 14-year-old from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, who shot to fame as the youngest female to win a Sukma weightlifting gold medal in July, usually prepares early for the festival by shopping for new clothes and making Indian traditional cookies at home.
