LIM GARDEN residents have been urged to put out their garbage bags on the day of collection in a bid to eradicate illegal dumpsites in the housing area.

Lim Garden Residents Association Secretary K. Sagadevan said all residents should also tie up their rubbish bags and place the bags in a rubbish bin to keep the area clean.

“With the cooperation of the Ipoh City Council and the area’s Rukun Tetangga, we decided to come up with some guidelines for the residents here.

“All rubbish should be in a garbage bag, tied up and put inside a bin in front of their houses,” he said in a statement.

“We also ask that residents do not put out their garbage bag overnight to prevent stray animals from rummaging and making a mess,” he added.

Sagadevan said flyers have been distributed to the residents on the matter.

“We’ve also put up banners reminding the community that it’s also their responsibility to keep the area clean,” he said.

Sagadevan also advised residents to place their garden refuse in a rubbish bag before disposing of it.

“Leaves and cut branches must be bagged and tied up. The bags are to be placed in front of the respective houses,” he said.

“Recyclable items, like newspapers, plastic, cans and other items should be placed at the recyclable bins behind the Rukun Tetangga office,” he added.
