HINDU residents of Subang Jaya and Puchong are calling off their Deepavali celebrations following dry taps in their neighbourhoods since Sunday night.

The closure of the Semenyih water treatment plant after odour pollution in Sungai Buah, Negri Sembilan, left residents surviving on water tanks for the last four days and many are losing hope of celebrating the Festival of Lights since water supply has not resumed completely.
