AN ANTHOLOGY of short stories featuring Malaysian and Venezuelan writers and a novel written by the 48th president of Venezuela and translated into Bahasa Malaysian kicked off celebrations to mark the South American country’s 30 years of friendship with Malaysia.
Malaysian Johan Dzulkifli, who translated Romulo Gallegos’ Dona Barbara from Spanish, said the biggest challenge was ensuring the impact of the author’s words would not be lost during the rendering process.
