Residents advised to stay vigilant

The scene at Pulau Ketam jetty in Port Klang. IZZRAFIQ ALIAS / The Star. October 17, 2016.

ALTHOUGH the tidal wave peaked at 5.7m yesterday, low-lying areas in Klang town and Port Klang were not affected by floods due to absence of heavy rain and bunds placed along Sungai Kelang.

Low-lying areas in Klang that were put on alert were Taman Melawis and neighbourhoods around Jalan Tepi Sungai, while in Port Klang, areas at risk were Pandamaran, Taman Selat Damai, Kampung Sungai Lima and Pulau Ketam.
