Tourism board highlights shipwreck sites to further promote Penang as sea fishing paradise

This haul of good-sized goldensnappers and grouper came fromfishing overnight in artificial reefs laid more than 20 nautical miles away, using mostly fresh-caught squid as bait.

CATCHING live bait at sea is so easy, even greenhorn anglers can get a bucket full of fish. But those who follow anglers out to sea might be surprised with what they call bait.

A sea fishing expedition begins with visits to a few ‘unjam’. These are long strung-up bunches of coconut palm fronds anchored to the sea floor, rising many metres up the water column.
