SANDAKAN: Ratepayers in all 23 local authorities in Sabah can now pay their assessment tax electronically.
The JomPAY e-payment platform was launched at the Sabah Local Authority ICT Seminar 2016 here.
It is a partnership between CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd and Sabah local authorities.
State Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the service was in line with the theme of the conference which is to strengthen the ICT culture in local authorities by delivering smart services to consumers.
“This reflects current trends in Sabah’s public sector which focuses on leveraging innovation to deliver better services.
“Using ICT to improve the public sector delivery service will improve efficiency,” he said in his speech which was delivered by Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris.
CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd deputy CEO Mohamad Safri Shahul Hamid said they were proud to partner with Sabah local authorities.
“They took a quantum leap to embark on this e-payment journey that will substantially increase operational efficiency, improve their collections and provide convenience for the state’s ratepayers.
