FRIENDS E. Shreeshirwinie, Ngang Hooi Yi, Lim Zi Yi and Lim Lim Shi Yi are looking forward to taking part in the Star FitForLife Fun Run at the SPICE Arena in Relau, Penang, on Oct 16.

The 15-year-olds said it will be a good way to release tension after sitting for their PT3 exam, which ends on Oct 13.

“We just want to have fun by joining this event,” the SMJK Union students echoed during the FitForLife Fun Run roadshow held at the school in York Road on Tuesday.

The three were among more than 100 students who signed up for the upcoming 9.5km fun run, which will be flagged off from SPICE Arena.

The school’s acting senior assistant (co-curriculum) Wong Chui Ping said more students would be signing up for the run until the closing date.

“The school always encourages its students to take part in health- related activities and this fun run will surely be a good programme for them,” she said during the roadshow.

Star Media Group Bhd audience management marketing representative Christopher James, who distributed the registration forms to the students, said the roadshow was held to promote the event, adding that the programme is endorsed by the state Education Department.

The run will be flagged off at 7.30am on Oct 16.

Participants can register online (http://sites.thestar.com.my/fitforlife/), at the Star Northern Hub in Bayan Lepas or The Star Pitt St. in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, from 9am to 5pm (except public holidays, Saturday and Sunday).

The entry fee is RM20. Besides a branded micro-dry T-shirt worth RM55 and a goodie bag, each participant will also receive a certificate of participation.

Participants stand a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, among many other attractive prizes during the lucky draw session.

The closing date for registration is Oct 7 or when entries have reached 5,000 participants, whichever is earlier.
