Penang studying autonomy to regulate rental in heritage zone

THE state government has the power under the Federal Constitution to regulate rental of properties in the core and buffer zone of the George Town World Heritage Site.

State Housing Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the state could do so without consulting the Federal Government.
