Villagers still largely unclear about Zika and dengue

ALTHOUGH news of the country being on alert for Zika outbreaks has been splashed across newspapers and the internet lately, awareness of the infectious disease outside of major urban centres is still very low.

The MetroPerak team recently met with villagers living in areas around Ipoh and found that knowledge about the danger from mosquitoes and the Zika virus is far from widespread.
