BINTULU: Bintulu town hosted one of the biggest celebrations, Hari Malaysia 2016, at the old airport site.

The town with an estimated current population of 500,000, of whom around 200,000 are foreign workers, has fast risen from being just a small fishing town in the early 1960s to one of Sarawak’s biggest and most vibrant towns with the discovery of oil and gas in the 1970'.
