BIG Apple Eduworld Sdn Bhd is set to open up its sixth branch in Ipoh, in time for the next schooling year.

Big Apple Chief marketing officer, Kingsley Ting Wei Wei said the latest branch, to be located next to the Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites, will be a daycare centre and nursery.

“Before and after school care will be provided for those aged between seven and 12 at the daycare centre.

“Apart from meals, showers and assisting the children in their homework, we will also be offering transportation between the centre and their respective schools.

“This is for the ease and convenience of working parents,” Ting told reporters, adding that 50 places will be offered in the first intake.

The daycare centre will operate from 7.30am to 6pm on weekdays and from 7.30am to 1pm on Saturdays, except public holidays, and will remain open during school holidays.

“As for the nursery, we will have four classes – two classes for two-year-olds and another two classes for three-year-olds.

“The school sessions are 8am to noon and 1pm to 5pm,” he added.

Ting said, established in 1993, Big Apple Eduworld has a solid track record and is backed by very experienced teachers.

“Our student to teacher ratio is 9:1 in each classroom to ensure every child receives the due attention that they deserve.

“At Big Apple Eduworld, our children are also taught to use both sides of the brain in that they will learn to be sequential and analytical while being creative and emotional,” he said.

“To date, we have had 25,000 children graduating from our preschools.

“Some of them have entered very prestigious primary schools and have been quite successful. All this, due to the solid foundation received at our preschools,” he added.

Buoyed by the performance of its former pupils, Ting revealed that Big Apple Eduworld will be embarking on a franchise programme of its preschools.

“Our prospectus is ready and we hope to launch the franchise programme by the first quarter of next year,” he said.

Ting also announced that Big Apple Eduworld would be conducting its “Fun with English Language Immersion and American Culture Camp” for a second time from Dec 19 to 23.

To be held at its Kinta Riverfront Preschool, the camp for children aged five to seven will be conducted by University of Hawaii music professor Dr Loong Chet-Yeng, Impel (Information, Music, Professional and English Lessons) Training president Donna Guhde and American Orff certified instructor BethAnn Hepburn.

“This is more than just an English camp as children are taught about literature through learning about plants, bugs and transportation.

“There will also be storytelling, sports, music, art and dance,” said Ting.

Fees for the camp is RM1,200 per child although early birds who register by Nov 19 only pay RM1,000.
