KOTA TINGGI: A joint operation between the marine police and the army has thwarted an attempt by 13 illegal immigrants, including seven women, to sneak into the country in Pengerang here.

Marine police Southern Region II commander Asst Comm Paul Khiu Khon Chiang said his men spotted a group of Indonesians who had just landed and hid themselves along the coastal area in Ladang Sungai Tengah at around 6.30am recently.
