KUCHING: Students from SMK Kuching High made a near clean sweep of an inter-school Scrabble competition at the DBKU City Library.
Nine of the school’s students won a perfect six games each to occupy the top nine places in the individual standings.
SMK Kuching High also emerged as the Team Challenge Champions, ahead of SMK St Teresa and SMK Kuching Town who finished as first and second runners-up respectively.
A total of 73 students from nine schools took part in the competition, which was organised by the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU).
It aimed to promote Scrabble among youngsters, expand their vocabulary and instill a love for the English language.
