THE PROBLEM of foreigners encroaching onto state-owned land in northern Perak to steal gaharu (agarwood) is more than just a case of theft, as it also involves breaches of security along the Malaysian-Thai border.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said if Perak’s borders are not secure, it could pose a major threat to overall safety and security of the state and country.
