300 families evacuated as flash floods sweep through parts of Penang island

FLASH floods wreaked havoc in several places on Penang island including in Teluk Bahang where about 300 families had their homes inundated.

State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Mohd Azman Hussin said 19 firemen were deployed to the scene after they received a distress call at 2.31pm yesterday.
