Selangor government urged to save badminton courts in Dewan Hamzah

Dewan Hamzah, a multipurpose hall managed by the Klang Municipal Council, will see its four badminton courts removed.

KLANG Municipal Council (MPK) staff want the Selangor Government to protect the council’s indoor sports facilities in Dewan Hamzah that is earmarked to be turned fully into a wedding banquet hall. The building currently houses four badminton courts.

According to plans, the 44-year-old multipurpose hall will be renovated to make it appropriate for conferences and wedding banquets; the varnished parquet floor and floodlights will be removed and in their place are new flooring and chandelier lights.
