POPULAR Raya songs filled the open space at the Aspen Group’s headquarters as guests feasted on scrumptious Malay dishes during the company’s Hari Raya open house.
Dressed in colourful traditional Malay costumes, Aspen employees greeted hundreds of the invited guests including some 35 children from the Children’s Protection Society.
The children later received duit Raya from Aspen Group chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff.
Aspen Group chief executive officer Datuk M. Murly said people from all races and religions came together to enjoy the celebration.
“The event also gives us a chance to unwind and mingle with our business associates and friends,” he said at the open house in Macalister Road, Penang, on Friday.
Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas was the guest of honour.
Also present were state exco members Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim, Dr Afif Bahardin and Danny Law Heng Kiang, and Bukit Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari, Persatuan Melayu Pulau Pinang (Pemenang) president Tan Sri Mohd Yussof Latiff and former state assembly Speaker Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain.
