THERE’S something strange lurking around Sunway Lagoon’s Lynton V. Harris Scream Park but the Ghostbusters are ready with their proton packs to put the sinister creatures in their place.
Sunway Lagoon continues its successful partnership with Lynton V. Harris and The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company, adding The Ghostbusters to a long list of popular blockbusters which have been turned into themed attractions at Scream Park including Terminator, Night at The Museum, Prison Break and World War Z.
The latest attraction to the Scream Park, The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! takes its cue from the latest Ghostbuster movie released this week.
The all-women Ghostbusters are armed with proton packs to trap the sinister creatures.
This marks the biggest annual investment to-date since Scream Park opened seven years ago.
Among the highlights of The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! is the interaction between visitors and a cast of live actors who play the ghosts and the Ghostbusters.
The attraction occupies the entire top level of Scream Park and takes visitors on a 15-minute scary journey through locations based on the movie.
The journey kicks off at the Slimer’s pad, filled with cool Ghostbusters memorabilia, followed by the Aldridge Mansion, New York’s oldest private home and museum where a tour guide will introduce the spooky story of Gertrude Aldridge.
A detour takes visitors to New York’s Seward Street subway station to visit Old Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant, the new headquarters of the new all-women Ghostbusters team.
The Scream Park visitors will next visit Rowan’s (the evil villain in the movie) basement, followed by Mercado Hotel – set in iconic Times Square in New York – where guests will face a spooky, scary and slimy finale to their journey.
The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! provides park-goers and movie fans alike with a unique and interactive trip through the Ghostbusters world.
The elements in the adventure including the recreation of the locations from the film, bring a sense of realism and authenticity to the experience.

A tip for those brave enough to face the unfriendly ghosts, is to watch the movie before making the journey.
It makes a lot more sense to find where the maze takes you and the characters along the journey.
Sunway Lagoon general manager Sean Choo called this new addition to Scream Park, another milestone in the long-standing partnership with The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company.
“The partnership does not stop here as we will be hosting the largest horror festival in Malaysia, Nights of Fright, which is now in its fourth instalment.”
With the Ghostbusters attraction, he said “whether you are 14 or 40, from the first movie back in 1984 to the latest all-women reboot, the franchise has impacted our childhood in one way or another.”

“Ghostbusters Adventure Live! is an attraction like so many at Sunway Lagoon which provides an avenue to share experiences as it can be enjoyed by all ages,” he said.
Proton Holdings Berhad sponsored a vehicle that will bear the logo of The Ghostbusters that will be going around the Klang Valley.
The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company chairman and chief executive officer Lynton V. Harris said there was no better company to call on than Proton as The Ghostbusters themselves carry a “proton pack.”
He said the interactive attraction at Sunway Lagoon based on the movie was not just the first of its kind in Asia but the first in the world.
The attraction will be at Scream Park for the next three years, and 30 Malaysian young adults trained at the Scare School of Scream Park are out to give families a spooky yet fun adventure.
The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! at Lynton V. Harris Scream Park is open from 11am to 6pm daily.
In conjunction with the launch, Sunway Lagoon will be hosting its first ever “Spend and Win” where Malaysians, aged 18 years and above, will stand a chance to drive away a brand new Proton Iriz when they spend RM300 or more in a single receipt.
