MATCHBOXES were valued about 50 years ago because with just two of them and some rubber bands, you could make a ‘gun’ that fired paper bullets and spend hours playing cops and robbers with your ‘gang’ of friends.
Used tin cans were never thrown away. Two of them, with some wire, a pole and a candle could be made into a tin canlantern that makes a good deal of light and noise as you roll it on the ground.
