CONVENTIONAL methods of making popular Malay kuih are slowly dying off.

However, sexagenarian Hasmah Yusof from Penang has been using traditional lesung kaki (foot-powered mortar and pestle) for over three decades to make kuih bakar kacang, putu kacang and putu beras.
