MIRI: An election petition was filed in the Miri High Court by BN direct candidate in the Pujut state constituency, Datuk Hii King Chong against Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon of DAP.
Business tycoon Hii filed the petition yesterday through his lawyer KY Ling at about 11am. In his statement of petition Hii claimed that Dr Ting had already acquired Australian citizenship and thus should be disqualified as assemblyman in Sarawak.
