JOHOR BARU: Now more parents can enjoy watching movies in the cinema together with their children thanks to the Family Friendly concept introduced by a cinema operator here.
TGV Cinemas head of marketing services Celeste Koay said that TGV Cinemas is the first cinema operator in Malaysia to introduce the Family Friendly concept exclusively for parents with young children.
She said that the child-friendly sessions are now available at TGV Cinemas in Tebrau, Kulaijaya, Bukit Indah, Mesra Mall and Seremban 2 since May 14.
“Often parents avoid going to the cinema because they are afraid that their children might cause disturbance to other movie-goers but with this initiative, we provide a conducive setting for both parents and their children.
“It allows parents and children to enjoy movies without any problems where they can walk around the hall and even make new friends,” she said, adding that the sessions would be a perfect opportunity for parents to bond and share their passion for movies with their children.
Koay said that both parents and children could watch anything from the latest blockbuster movies to children’s classics every Saturday and Sunday morning at the selected TGV Cinemas.
She added that for the comfort of toddlers, the Family Friendly sessions would be carried out in halls with dimmed lights and lower audio level.
She said they would also provide a diaper changing table and baby stroller parking space inside the hall for parents’ convenience.
She also said that since the launch of the Family Friendly concept a year ago, they have received overwhelming response from parents from around the Klang Valley and hope that the concept would also gain popularity among parents in Johor, Seremban and Terengganu.
Parents can buy the tickets at affordable prices, at RM10 per adult and RM5 per child under 12-years-old, and it is free for toddlers aged below three years, through their website at www.tgv.com.my or walk-in to the selected TGV Cinemas.
Family Friendly sessions are also available in TGV Cinemas 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, AU2, Jaya Shopping Mall, Encorp Strands, Rawang, Bukit Raja and Cheras Selatan.
