Timely rain helps put out wildfires and clear haze

A welcome sight in Miri City as the morning rain washed away the haze.

MIRI: Nomination day for the 11th Sarawak state elections saw the skyline over Miri City cleared of the haze that had choked the city for the past week.

A brief spell of heavy downpour during the pre-dawn hours of Monday managed to douse most of the wildfires in the Kuala Baram district about 15km north of Miri city.
