OGAWA’s newly launched Nex Evol massage chair has a meaningful message behind it.

Ogawa World Berhad executive director Louis Chong said that “Evol” was intentionally spelt backwards from the word “love” because the brand believes that the expression should go both ways.

“As Parents Day is coming up, we wanted something that can help people express love to their parents in a new way,” explained Chong, adding that “Nex” represents innovation of the next era.

He said Ogawa has always strived to relay the message of love, because without love, there would be no peace and wellness at home.

“Consumers can take the opportunity to communicate their care and affection through the chairs.”

Some of the innovative features of the massage chair include the Thermo Care Technology and Sensory Perceptive Technology.

Ogawa World Berhad executive director Lim Mee Ling described the Thermo Care Technology as having dual heated rollers and foot warmers that provide a warm and comfortable experience.

“The rollers maintain optimum temperatures at 37°C that suits the human body, while its functions are made to emulate the touch of human hands,” she said.

In terms of Sensory Perceptive Technology, Chong said this feature enabled the chair to function with “sixth sense efficiency”.

“It is as though the massage chair has a brain, whereby during massages, it predicts the most effective intensity of its massage techniques with real-time adjustments for precise use.

“The sensors are intelligent as they are sensitive: they measure the needs of the body, and also detect the problematic areas, as such every massage experience can be different,” he explained.

In addition, Chong said the chairs are designed to suit today’s trendy living needs.

“It is made with current aesthetic standards, bearing in mind the modern home’s interior,” said Chong.

“Usually massage chairs require a big space but this can be placed only inches away from the wall; the chair does not recline, it slides forward,” Lim added.

Nex Evol employs mechanism and technology engineered in Japan.

It comes in three colours – vanilla, burgundy and marigold – and retails at a special promotional price of RM12,999 (normal price RM19,999) until June.
