KUANTAN: The old boys of Sultan Abdullah School are reuniting after 43 years thanks to social media.

Reunion organising committee member R. Ravitharan said although there had been several mini reunions, this would be a grand get-together for many of his primary schoolmates, who had not seen each other in decades.

“Even though there are some of us who are still living in Kuantan, we have lost contact with each other over the years. Then we started re-connecting via social media and the group grew from there.

“Some of us met up and it was really suprising to find out what we have all been up to since we went our separate ways after Standard Six.

“From the initial group, we wanted to meet with the others and decided to form a committee to hold a grand reunion,” he said.

Ravitharan said the reunion of the class of 1968 to 1973, would be held on May 1.

He said they planned to visit their old classroom building, which was still preserved in its original form.

“We will then have a simple game of football before going for dinner at MS Garden Hotel. Presently, it will be attended by 95 alumni and 10 former teachers,” he said.

Ravitharan said those who wish to obtain further details or register for the reunion could contact Azlimee at 019-304 4555, Azhar at 019-955 8752 or Kamri at 019-988 5775.
