RETIRED teacher Wong Ah Tiam (pic) is hoping to be reunited with his nephew whom he has not seen for the past 50 years.
“I know that his name is Wong Seow Yong and he would be in his 60s now.
“He studied at the Bukit Mertajam High School, and we used to live in Jalan Aston Road with my mother.
“His parents were in China at that time, so he stayed with me and my mother while attending school here,” he said in an interview.
Ah Tiam, 75, said he last heard that his nephew was studying to be a teacher but they had lost contact by then due to some family disagreements.
“He has a younger sister, Wong Seow Ying, whom I have also lost contact with.
“She is two or three years younger and had studied at the SJK(C) Kim Sen not far away from our home.
“Seow Yong was good in drawing and I had often asked him to help me sketch portraits of well-known artistes with a pencil,” he added.
Ah Tiam, who lives in Lorong Mesjid Bagan Ajam in Butterworth with his 39-year-old son, said it would be nice to see his nephew again.
Those who know of Seow Yong’s whereabouts can contact Ah Tiam (019-7784428).
