Fridays to be cultural night

A WEEKLY Ipoh Cultural Show will be held on every Friday night, starting tomorrow.

The show, co-organised by the Perak Cultural and Arts Department and Ipoh City Council would be held at the state Cultural and Arts Complex and the People’s Park at Jalan Bijih Timah in Ipoh.

The show, which start ats 8.30pm, will be held at the complex on every first and third Friday of each month.

On the second and fourth Fridays of the month, the show will be held at the park.

There will be performances of traditional dance and music, arts and cultural quizes and learning sessions.

Among the types of dance that will be performed are the Gambus Padang Changkat, Dabus, Joget Perak, Cempaka Sari, Dikir Fusion, Nego, Joget Keta Lembu, Kollatum and Tanglung.

The show will however be halted in the month of June, due to the fasting month and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

It will resume in July right up to November. Entrance is free.
