Probe into illegal piping to construction site

A CONTRACTOR involved in building a 31-storey low-cost flats in Bandar Baru Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, is being investigated for using a fake standpipe as a cover for an unauthorised T-connection to siphon treated water from a main pipe.

During initial investigation, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) enforcement officers discovered the illegal connection made from the main Syabas water pipe to a 32mm pipe leading into the construction site.
