Fiesta back for the eighth year

EVERYONE’S favourite hot air balloon fiesta is back!

Happening from March 11 to 13, the 8th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF) will return to Presint 2 and feature an amazing line-up of international balloonists and a new variety of attractions.

The 8th PIHABF chairman Mohammad Sobri Saad said that they were delighted to once again host such talented balloonists from all over the world in Putrajaya.

“We believe that homegrown events such as the fiesta not only brands Putrajaya, but the entire nation as a wholesome tourist destination in South-East Asia,” he said during a press conference.

He also unveiled four special-shaped balloons that will be decorating Putrajaya skies next month.

The balloons are – the Happy Lobster Bobo from Belgium, the yellow jacket Bee Balloon from Brazil, Mister Z the Zebra from the US, and the main highlight – the Alien Rocket balloon from Canada, which will be its first time flying in Asia.

Balloonists from France, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Poland and Malaysia will also be flying their balloons.

This year’s fiesta will also see a tremendous effort to ensure visitors to get up close and personal with the balloons.

There is the Launching Field Access & Night Glow Access, where the capacity has been doubled to enable visitors to get closer to the balloons.

The event will also offer a dedicated yoga and Zumba session for visitors while they enjoy the enchanting view of balloons flying over them.

MyBalloonClub moves to a more prominent spot at the Blue Zone, giving its members the best view and the cosiest seats in the house, and provides all access to the Fiesta ground.

Premium Tethered Balloon Rides are exclusively available for purchases of this membership only.

The presenting sponsor for this year’s fiesta, the Republic of Indonesia Tourism Ministry, will be showcasing a taste of Indonesia at the Indonesian Cultural Village.

Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the best of Indonesian food, live entertainment and activities.
