GARDEN International School Kuala Lumpur (GISKL) has collaborated with Aquaria KLCC to launch a campaign that aims to educate and raise awareness of the endangered marine species in Malaysia.
GISKL Year 7 Design Techno-logy students made great efforts to meet the requirements set by the Aquaria KLCC team.
With the support of their teachers, they came up with the idea of making earbud wraps/earphone holders featuring sea life to raise awareness.
The funds collected will be channelled to Mercy Malaysia, a non-profit humanitarian organisation.
A total of six earbud wraps featuring otter, octopus, turtle, seahorse, starfish and seal are available at Aquaria KLCC’s gift shop.
For every RM9.90 donated, visitors will receive an earbud wrap specially designed and created by these students.
About 50 earbud wraps were sold on the first day of launch at Aquaria KLCC.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and I want to personally thank Aquaria KLCC for giving our students a genuine ‘design and make’ opportunity.
“From a real-life brief to design, manufacture and sales, it shows students some of the career opportunities related to design and manufacture as well as supporting a worthy cause.
“I am sure visitors to Aquaria KLCC will be impressed by the work of our students in only four lessons!” said GIS head of Design Technology Ryan Ball.
