THE Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) delivered gifts to the doorstep of 250 poor people staying at the Rifle Range flats in Air Itam.

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, the recipients each received a box of necessities and food stuff from PCCC’s Youth Entrepreneur Section to mark the celebration.

Chamber president Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng said the activity held for the fourth year was to give the poor a helping hand.

“The youth section found sponsors for the items,” he added.

“We believe in such activities which will inculcate caring values among our youths.

“We hope this event will draw the attention to the needs of the poor,” said Choot, who is also the youth section advisor, at the event on Sunday.

Each box contained items such as rice, coffee, toothpaste, toothbrush, festive ornaments, towel, medicated oil, rice noodle, light soy sauce, instant noodles and cooking oil.
