THE McMillan Woods Global Awards 2016 paid tribute to 32 individuals at a party held in Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
They were each recognised for their feat in their respective fields, which included entrepreneurs, leaders and artistes.
Hong Kong artistes Ron Ng Cheuk Hei and Elanne Kwong was present that evening, joining a star-studded crowd that also included Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Jack Lim and Jeff Chin.

Ng, Kwong and Siti were also recipients of the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male Actor of the Year, Asia Pacific Excellent Female Actress of the Year and the Outstanding Singer of the Year awards respectively.
McMillan Woods president Datuk Raymond Liew said the awards were based on the people’s choice, looking at public profiling whereby recipients were meticulously chosen for their success, achievements and leadership qualities.
“The award is to be reckoned with, for they only belong in the hands of true leaders.
“More importantly, it’s seen as synonymous with the mark of excellence and distinction in the different industries,” he stated.

Speaking at the event, guest of honour Ayam Brand chairman Datuk Tunku Mu’tamir Tunku Mohamed expressed his support for McMillan Woods initiatives.
“Certainly, such a prestigious award will create a sturdy platform to acknowledging the many exemplary personalities globally,” he shared.
There were three categories of awards doled out that night, including 14 titles for the personality class, 11 titles for the master class as well as five titles for the rising class.
Among the award recipients were Andaman Property Group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew who bagged the Entrepreneur Par Excellence of the Year, Visionary Veteran Motivator of the Year recipient Inland Revenue Board chief executive officer Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukor Mahfar as well as Restructuring and Turnaround Excellence award recipient FTI Consulting Singapore senior managing director Mark Chadwick.

Another two notable mentions were Hong Kong artistes Tavia Yeung Yi and Ruco Chan Chin Pang who were absent from the event.
They were named the Asia Pacific Most Popular Female Actress of the Year and the Asia Pacific Best Male Actor of the Year.
The banquet dinner saw Siti belting out Celine Dion’s A New Day Has Come accompanied by the sweet tone of the violin played by violinist Dennis Lau.

Iranian illusionist Mahdi Moudini, who was named the Illusionist Extraordinaire of the Year, also took to the stage to play tricks on the crowd.
