LEADING retailer Aeon Co (M) Bhd kicked off its Chinese New Year celebration with the launch of Cai Cai Wang 2016 campaign.

The campaign, which is being held until Feb 7, offers customers attractive promotions and exciting activities.

Aeon Co (M) Sdn Bhd executive director Poh Ying Loo said the Chinese phrase “cai cai wang” was an ode to the support given by loyal customers for the past 32 years.

“In this celebration of the Year Of The Monkey, we feel Cai Cai Wang is a fitting theme as it means ‘to prosper together’. Best of all, ‘wang’ is part of Aeon’s name in Chinese,” said Poh.

Aeon will also be giving away reusable bags and ang pow packets with minimum purchases of RM300 and RM100 respectively while purchases of RM100 and above will receive RM10 cash vouchers.

Held in collaboration with HSBC and MaxValu, customers also stand a chance to walk away with Thermos food jars and an 8% cash back when purchases are made with HSBC credit cards.

Besides that, Aeon is having a month-long Facebook and Instagram contest in which lucky participants will win a share of over RM10,000 Aeon gift vouchers and a Zwiling Twin Point Slicing Knife.

“We are constantly seeking ways to engage our customers in fun contests and activities, it’s our way of saying thank you,” said Poh.

At the launch, Aeon and Visa Malaysia presented the winners of the Aeon’s Answer and Win contest with iPhone 6, a Sony 60-inch Smart LED TV, Aeon member points, Aeon gift vouchers and the grand prize, a Honda HRV.

Held from September to November, Aeon shoppers were required to make a minimum purchase with their Visa cards and answer a simple question.

“Aeon has been a strong partner for Visa and I would like to thank them for their support over the years. During the contest period, we saw close to 15% growth in the number of Visa card transactions at Aeon stores.

“I believe we will draw closer to the Government’s goal of achieving a cashless society as we continue to work closely with Aeon to drive more campaigns and rewards for customers,” said Visa Malaysia country manager Ng Kong Boon.

This festive season, Aeon is also offering a limited-edition Chinese New Year member card at RM24 for a three-year membership and discount of RM12 in membership fees as well as free 300 Aeon member points.
