Striking it lucky as airline flies into its 14th year

AIRASIA celebrated its 14th year anniversary through the AirAsia Anniversary Challenge.

A total of 14 contestants who had been shortlisted from a pool of 1,010 entries battled it out in a foot race throughout gateaway@klia2, to complete various tasks and activities.

The winner was 34-year-old Douglas Yip from Alor Setar who went home with one year’s worth of free seats to any destination operated by AirAsia and AirAsia X, one year’s Tune Protect Travel Insurance by AirAsia, 140,000 BIG Points, RM3,000 Lazada shopping cash voucher and RM1,400 AirAsiaGo hotel cash voucher.

The contest required the participants, who were paired with local celebrities to complete various tasks and missions such as taking selfies and a shopping challenge, putting their knowledge and endurance to test via the foot race around gateway@klia2.

Apart from the grand prize, other contestants stood a chance of winning up to RM20,000 Lazada shopping vouchers during the grand finale.

AirAsia Berhad head of commercial Spencer Lee said the challenge was a fun way to thank customers for their support throughout the years.

“Through the challenge, they were able to experience the various innovative products and services which we have introduced over the years,” Lee said after flagging off the participants.

The AirAsia Anniversary Challenge was powered by MasterCard and Tune Protect, with support from AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme, AirAsiaGo, Tune Hotels, Tune Talk and Lazada Malaysia.

To usher in the Year of the Monkey, the airline has integrated an interesting mix of offerings every week leading up to Chinese New Year with fares from as low as RM28 one-way to all destinations. AirAsia is also giving out 188 Hot Seats for those who were born in the Year of the Monkey.

Up for grabs too are a selection of world-class duty-free products on AirAsia BIG Duty Free priced from as low as RM35, a total of 888,888 AirAsia BIG Points to be given away when guests book a flight with AirAsia from now until Feb 15.
