MALACCA: The Malacca government is closely monitoring the “No Plastic Bag Day” initiative which came into force in the state on Jan 1 and will conduct periodic checks on all premises to ensure its effective implementation.

Consumers will have to bring along their own shopping bags after the government declared a total ban on plastic bags made from petroleum by-products at all supermarkets and shopping malls.
