Sloppy work cause of hefty bills

A stretch of road at Taman Equine in Seri Kembangan with multiple potholes. Since the rainy spell, motorist and residents have to put up with bad roads riddled with potholes.

PRIVATE developers and utility companies owe Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) almost RM1mil for the cost of repairing potholes, said Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Mohd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz.

Amin Nordin said 60% of the road damage resulting in potholes are caused by utility companies who carry out bad patch-up jobs after digging up the roads to lay their cables and developers who are constructing their projects near major roads.
