7,000 Long Sukang residents cut off from outside world

BAKELALAN: More than 7,000 people from 12 populated settlements in Long Sukang highlands in the Bakelalan state constituency are literally voiceless because they cannot even make a phone call.

This is despite the fact that the government had already constructed a 50m high telecommunication tower in Long Sukang, that is two-and-a-half hours by timber road from the nearest urban centre of Lawas town.
