KUCHING: During weekends and school holidays, everyone is taking leisurely strolls at parks and malls. The Padawan Pitcher Plant Garden should also be a good place to explore in support of the local council’s effort in conserving the protected plant species.
The Nepenthes, or widely known as pitcher plant or monkey cup, was first discovered in the 19th century by artist Marianne North and can be found at jungles all over Borneo. It is this plant that catapulted Sarawak as a land filled with endangered and exotic plants waiting to be discovered by researchers.
