Speaker: NSC needed in other states

KUCHING: The National Security Council (NSC) is not targeted at Sarawak, says State Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.

Commenting on an opposition leader’s assertion that the NSC could be used to curtail state political dissent, Asfia said: “No, no, no, how could it be aimed at Sarawak? Sarawak is the mainstay of Barisan Nasional; it’s the bedrock of Barisan. This security (council) is not directed at Sarawak.”
