KUCHING: Aquatic science PhD student Nurhartini Kamalia Yahya is facing the end of her time with around 100 green sea turtles.

In June last year, the Penang-born scientist obtained a permit to collect 200 hatchlings from the Talang Besar island. She reared them at a family-run resort at Lundu, from two aquariums (when they were small) into two ponds, with a constant supply of fresh seawater pumped in.
