Tey demonstrating how the new Ogawa Smart Master Plus works.

THERE are massage chairs, and then, there are massage chairs but here’s one chair to rule them all – the Ogawa Smart Master Plus.

A fusion of science and nature, and said to provide “unparalleled relaxation”, the all-new premium model showcases the latest innovations in massage chairs.

It integrates Cloud technology, a pioneering oxy-breathing therapy that provides fresh, breathable air, and utilises light and sound therapy as well.

Meticulously designed with accented genuine leather and rose gold, the streamlined curved design is inspired by the comforting embrace of a mother’s arm, to elevate the luxury and overall aesthetics of the chair.

What makes the Ogawa Smart Master Plus so special, you ask?

Well, for starters, the chair is connected to a handy iPad Mini touch screen controller that has been pre-installed with the OGAWA Smart Master Plus App, allowing you to download and install updates and the latest programmes that will help to improve wellness!

You can look forward to a personalised massage chair that caters to your individual needs.

It also comes with a newly added feature, personalised massage programmes uniquely designed according to one’s age, height and strength.

You just need to access the App and a programme can be tailor-made for your exclusive massage experience.

“We all lead such busy lives and most of us use some gadget or another, either for work or leisure. Ogawa has decided to take this one step further by being the first to design a chair with a built-in mini iPad,” said Ogawa’s senior manager, branding and marketing, Tey Yok Pee.

Ogawa has also taken into account how polluted our air is these days.

Seeing how fresh air is beneficial for both physical and mental health, the massage chair incorporates breakthrough technology that generates oxy-breathable air to provide oxy-breathing therapy.

This is made possible through a special filter that splits the surrounding molecules, removing 30% of the nitrogen content.

The cleaner air helps make you feel more comfortable as you are being massaged.

At the same time, you will be soothed by seven-colour LED light therapy that synchronises with the rhythm of breathing as a guiding tempo, to help improve your mood.

The built-in music therapy via the App allows you to choose from a list of soothing soulful music.

“As the leading brand in the market, Ogawa should have the courage to lead innovation in this field.

“We saw a niche for this segment of massage chairs, especially for successful business people who might enjoy this unique product,” Tey added.

The price might be a bit steep, but similar to how the BMW was not meant for the mass market, Tey said that Ogawa has a targeted audience in mind and views the Smart Master Plus as a way to build the brand as well.

Of course, all these added perks aside, Ogawa has not forgotten its core duty of delivering a variety of relaxing deep tissue massage settings, for a soothing, relaxing and advanced massage experience.

Its 3D flexible mechanism stimulates the body’s pressure points precisely and deeply, melts away fatigue, kneads the neck area precisely and feels as real and gentle as human hands.

Another new feature is the exclusive Human Body Shape Scanning, where the S-shaped ergonomically designed massage track can be programmed to penetrate deeper into exhausted back and spinal areas.

Thanks to the exclusive human body shape scanning function, massage programmes can be personalised according to different body shapes and sizes.

Seating position is similar to that of NASA’s astronauts during take-off, set at a zero gravity angle. As such, the massage chair provides the most ergonomic position, minimising spine pressure and relaxing the back.

The Double Foot Rollers And Heat Therapy for calves is also new, offering three types of foot massage programmes to ensure the pressure points on both feet can be massaged accurately. The heat therapy allows legs, feet and soles to experience spa-like indulgence.

Priced at RM22,999, a special discount of RM3,000 is offered upon trade-in of any old Ogawa massage chair. Available at all Ogawa outlets.
